Grief, Loss, & Trauma: Perspectives for Counseling is a volume for graduate students in school and clinical counseling and post-master’s counselors who wish to gain understanding of counseling bereaved individuals and their families. The text includes a variety of chapters by scholars and practitioners in the helping professions on a range of loss situations, such as death of a child/grandchild, suicide, palliative care, bereavement in wartime, natural disasters and other traumatic events. The text provides implications for practitioners from a perspective of resilience, as well as self-care for bereavement counselors.

Elizabeth B. Farnsworth, PhD, LPC, LMFT, earned her doctoral degree from Virginia Tech and is a counselor education faculty member at Lynchburg College in Virginia. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Counselor in private practice in Central Virginia.
